Crash about 1300 hrs, Tuesday 9, October, 2007

One vehicle involved, travelling towards Bury lost control, so it seems, prior to the entrance into Farm Close in the 40mph. Conditions was heavy rain, but visibility acceptable for the speed limit.

Comments - Glad he did not loose control where the kiddies cross the bridge where the railing is!

Comment 2 - The vehicle was displaying Cambridgeshire County Council logos, so presumably belongs to CCC. CCC do not see any particular reason to put more school warning signs on this stretch of road or provide a safe crossing point for the kiddies! CCC are content (so it seems) with the speed drivers tear through Upwood!

Comment 3 - After removing their vehicle from the ditch, debris including mud and gravel was left on the road surface to inconvenience other road users through damage to bodywork and leading increased braking distances immediately prior to the Farm Close entrance. How was this deterioration to the road surface allowed, when contractors and police were present and the road closed off? At one time brushes were carried and the road surface would have been made good before officers attending an incident left!
